The ever-growing energy consumption asks for new solutions in order to satisfy human needs. As we know that petrol will not last forever everybody is looking for alternative sources of energy. Looking across the EU border fracking is a new method to produce clean energy and several EU countries have already adopted it. But what is fracking, the production of shale gas, exactly, what are the long-term consequences of applying this method and are bans as in France justified?
